GRAHAM COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFF RECRUIT

This is four-month training assignment for the purpose of attending the Southeast Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy (AZPOST Certified) in Sierra Vista, AZ. While attending the academy the recruit will be paid $18.65 per hour, upon graduation from the academy the hourly rate will be $25.94. Applicants must be 21 years of age upon graduation from the academy which is scheduled to end on approximately November 20, 2025. The applicant must also be physically fit and will be required to run an obstacle course, as well as take a written exam and pass with 70% or higher, then go before an oral board. Applicants must meet the AZPOST minimum requirements for a law enforcement officer for the state of Arizona including passing a comprehensive background investigation which includes a polygraph test and medical exam by an AZPOST approved physician. Applicants must also pass pre-employment drug testing and a psychological exam. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and possession of a valid Arizona Driver’s License with a history of safe driving. The ideal candidate will have prior related experience, EMT Certification or will have completed First Aid/CPR training. However, any combination of training or experience may be accepted which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
